DR KONTRA (David G. Escamilla) is a Mexican audiovisual artist whose practice investigates perception, human behavior, and altered states of consciousness through sound, moving image, performance, installation, and experimental technologies. His work addresses fear, instinct, trauma, compulsion, belief systems, and psychological transformation. Rather than building linear narratives, he develops high-tension experimental situations where sound, image, body, matter, and technology interact as active, unpredictable elements of the work.
His practice unfolds between live cinema, sound composition, spatial environments, and physical systems. Signal distortion, temporal repetition, and sensory fragmentation are used to explore how perception is constructed and how the body responds when the usual systems of recognition and control are disrupted.
A high-intensity live act combining distorted rhythms,
harsh noise textures and immersive visuals.
The performance operates as a controlled ritual:
strobe, projection, physical sound pressure and raw presence.
Formats:
• Live Set (Industrial Techno / Noise)
• Hybrid AV Performance
• Art Festival / Experimental Spaces
Each show adapts to the environment
while maintaining maximum impact.
INDUSTRIAL RITUAL │
FOR THE END TIMES
With over a decade of experience in film, experimental video and sound design,
his work channels a raw and confrontational energy shaped by global chaos,
psychological control systems and post-human narratives.
His projects expand beyond music into immersive audiovisual experiences,
large-scale projections and hybrid live formats.
He is also involved in multiple experimental projects, including
BRAMASOLAR and ABSOLUTO, exploring darker sonic territories
ranging from nightmarecore to cosmic industrial.
Influenced by experimental cinema, underground electronic culture
and extreme sound art, DR KONTRA constructs intense live rituals
designed for both club environments and avant-garde festivals.
